Holiday Artisan Market by Creative Nomad Studios

Mark Your Calendars! Creative Nomad Studios is having its first Holiday Market on November 27th and 28th 2021 from 10 am – 4 pm. During this year’s event, everyone aged 12 and older will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination (digital or printed version) along with a government-issued ID to attend, exhibit and work at our show.

Light Up Downtown

Light Up Downtown – Nov 19 – January 2022: Take a stroll through Downtown Orillia this holiday season to get in the festive spirit! Enjoy all the Christmas decor, twinkling lights, and window displays. This year the Downtown Management Board has added illuminated decor pieces in each block downtown. These decor pieces make great photo-taking opportunities!

Christmas Shopping Nights – Nov 19, 26, Dec 3, 10, 17: Downtown Orillia will be running Christmas Shopping Nights once again this year! Businesses downtown will be open late every Friday from November 19th to December 17th to support your holiday shopping needs! Be sure to check out all the holiday decor downtown during these late shopping nights!

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day banners are up in Downtown Orillia. The Downtown Orillia office has a map of the veteran banners that are displayed on the lamp posts, so if you are inquiring about a certain banner, please click here, or contact the office by emailing office@downtownorillia.ca and we will let you know where the banners are.

 

Visit the Library Courtyard to view “The Art of Remembrance: A Remembrance Day Exhibit” for a poignant glimpse into the lives of local people during World War I and World War II. 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the Remembrance Poppy and to mark this occasion, local students, youth and seniors have been busy crafting poppies of all sizes and styles, which will also be on display. This exhibit is available for viewing now until November 15th.

Kid’s Halloween Costume Contest

It’s that time of year again! The kid’s Halloween Costume Contest will run online again this year. Kids can get all dressed up in their awesome costumes and submit a picture to our office any time this month before midnight on Halloween night. We will be voting on our top five favourite costumes and winners will receive tasty treats and some Downtown Dollars as prizes. The winners photos will be posted on our social media accounts, and contacted to come pick up their prizes on November 1st, 2021.

Submissions can be sent to office@downtownorillia.ca with the kids name and phone number.

Online Easter Scavenger Hunt

Downtown Orillia’s Online Easter Scavenger Hunt is happening again this year!! On Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, tune in to our Facebook page and keep an eye out for the scavenger hunt questions to be uploaded at 9:30am! There will be a list of questions that can be printed off and answered about your downtown businesses!
These scavenger hunt questions will be based around our downtown businesses’ Facebook and Instagram pages, so get out your computer/phone/tablet and have fun with the whole family while you search for the answers! Some of these questions will have multiple answers, and some extra sweet treats will be rewarded if you can name multiple businesses!
The first 10 people to submit their scavenger hunt sheets on April 3rd with the correct answers will receive a prize of Downtown Dollars and some sweet treats! You can submit your answer sheet via email at office@downtownorillia.ca or send us a Facebook message.
Don’t forget to fill out your name, address, and phone number on the sheet so we can contact you if you are a winner*!
*Due to COVID-19, our office is open by appointment only, so if you are a winner we will message you to set up a time to come pick up your prizes! Winners will be contacted on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021.
